Peterhead - Saturday - Bus Details

Postby mon the mo on Sun Jul 18, 2010 11:03 am

We have had a pretty poor uptake on the bus so far for Saturdays game and I'll be on the phones this week tryin gto get the numbers up

if you want to get up to the game, leaving Montrose at 10am (to allow for beverages/food) get in touch with Stuart on 07834370448

Peterhead don't have any players, could be a winnable game.....

I'm working for this one, but have a lingering feeling we might pull this off somehow...

I'm working for this one too. Got high hopes for making it to Dens Park though.

i feel sorry for the lads who travel up from england to watch that garbage.

we barely forced a save from the opposition keeper and we were absolutely honking at the back, all 5 of them made a silly amount of stupid/basic errors. Pope in particular played people in over his shoulder for two of the goals. rotten stuff and totally defendable.

no idea why Sandy Wood didn't start today; he has done well in preseason and we seen absolutely nothing from Bennet to suggest he has had any kind of preseason.

Why I bothered to travel up to that thinking a new season, new hope etc. is beyond me.
Exactly like watching a re-run of last season conceding preventable goals and looking really soft at the back.
There were a couple of moments of passing and movement until the 2nd went in, then the heads go down and you know the rest.
I'm glad I'm away to work for 5 weeks tomorrow as it might just get a bit embarrassing through at Dens.

Yeah, I know what you mean and I didn't enjoy seeing us go 0-5 down but we've got to get behind the team. I feel sorry for you lads who go week in and week out. Things are not going to get better quickly but the fans and the team have got to be in it together. There were some positives in amongst the crap I thought. It was a fluke first goal but the rest of the first half we were decent. Nichol looks sharp and Nicky Smith put in a good shift but the 2nd goal was a real soft bummer of defensive 'after you' scenario. I didn't think any of our lads didn't care about the shirt, we were beaten by better quality opposition we could do without playing at this stage. Same goes for the Dundee game and all 3 pre-season games. Can't do much about cup draws but pre-season should have been a more gradual build up starting with lesser opposition (unless I missed that) to give lads like Pope more chance of getting up to speed after a long lay off. Tosh also needs pitch time as does Scott Bennett clearly but hopefully come the QP game we'll be more ready for it.
I stopped off in town on the way home and got a copy of the Montrose Review. A very positive article on the back page regarding the fans meeting the club staff etc. Need to build on that.
Please though lads lets put Saturday (and probably Dundee) behind us (again!) and get behind the team because we won't achieve anything otherwise.

See where you are coming from Anglo but this lot have barely responded to positive encouragement over the past 12 months. Maybe they need to take a bit of flak?

We have to remember that the manager was the only one who bothered to make his way over to face the music/thank the fans for their loyal support at the end of the worst season in Montroses history and a shocking drubbing at Elgin. Have we forgotten that the rest of them slugged off the park with their minds already on heading out on the piss to have a laugh and chat up orange birds.

I think the fans are beginning to turn on them and Steven Tweed because they feel short changed and are no longer getting anything out of the Saturday afternoon experience (except for 25 goals conceded and 3 goals scored in the last 6 "experiences")
