Postby cdsmith15 on Fri May 28, 2010 5:02 pm

Another away game for teh Mo. This time to Dens Park for teh game against Dundee. To be played on Saturday 31st July.

I think it's fair to say that he cup draws have not been kind but at least Dens is pretty close for an away game!! :scot:

Its a long time since I was at Dens and Peterhead is one of the few places I've never been to so if we have to have away draws they are better than getting other 3rd division stuff.
Even better that I can get to both as my own (other) team are away at Darlo on the Friday night the 23rd and home to Hibs on Sunday 1/Aug. Jammy or what?

Haven't told the wife yet mind.

Who's going? Do you think we can improve? I'm not making any bold predictions, we will get knocked out but by how much?! :?

I'm going - suspect we will probably get gubbed - think the Dees will be more effective after their scare on Saturday past. For us, 15 goals lost in 4 games with only one counter doesn't bode well against higher league opposition!

I'm going as well. Every logical bone in my body is telling me not to bother but yet I still feel compelled to go.

Two of us going up from Angloland. We'd be wrong in the head to think we'll not get another gubbing but all we ask is to see some improvement, organisation and determination for a full 90 mins. Miracles don't happen and I hope I'm wrong. We are (still) the MO.

Bad formation, bad tactics, bad decision making. The players at least showed a bit of commitment.

Roll on next week.... I'm aff!!! Yeeha! :scot:

A big ask but thought we did Ok'ish. First half injuries upset our pattern of play as I thought we were holding them at bay quite well. We were never going to outscore them so tactics although negative were probably right to avoid another heavy and demoralising gubbing. The Dee probably didn't stretch themselves, but was that because we did quite well or 'cos they were just coasting it? Either way we could have been damaged a lot more today but it's important we wern't (apart from the injuries). Loss of Terry Masson was the big blow, first time I'd seen him and thought he did well.

Can't understand why ST continued playing Sinclair wide right when Milligan came on at left back. Milligan looked more menacing upfield when Fleming came on later. Thought Sandy Wood did well but pity Daryl Nichol and Nicky Smith had quiet games.

Lastly, great to see a good turnout of MO fans and really getting behind the team. A fantastic effort lads and overall I was fairly pleased with the 90 minute effort on the field even in defeat. Can't now make it until the Annan game at LP on 27 Aug but will be rooting for the lads every Saturday wherever I am.

It totally baffles me how Tweedy is able to play players out of position time and time again. We lost a bit of bite in the midfield when Terry went off yesterday. The young boy McCord looked decent enough but what is the point in a months long loan?

Can't fault the players for thier commitment, its not thier fault they are being piloted by a managerial novice. Even in the dark days of Drinkall, Sheran et al at least players were played in their preffered position.

don't see the point in bringing in young mccord on a months loan. he looks like a football player and for that reason he may struggle to get a game for us

thought that we did ok and whilst we had packed people behind the ball. Surely at 20 minutes it showed that Dundee were in 1st gear, I would have preferred to have seen us go and take a bash at them at that point. Tosh did well on his own up front but there is only so much one man can do with when the midfield werent able to get forward enough.

Not sure r.e. the positions. Suffice to say Milligan came out and had a terrific game on the left, even though he is right footed and a right sided player he ran the left line and caused them a load of bother. No idea why he hasn't started ahead of dross like Reilly in pre-season.

Campbell, Crighton, Macca and Wood looked solid enough and I thought that Nicky Smith was pretty much non existant through the centre (he is a winger/striker: get him on the flank or up front!).

I do feel sorry for Bennet; he was rightly replaced by Sandy for the match and will have to wait patiently for his turn again. He is obviously a good keeper but it's pretty clear he shouldn't have played last week.
